Notes
This is a multi-media round for colleting rough ideas and feedback as groups or individuals. We start on a dedicated message board. Depending on our needs and preferences, we can spread out to pings, skype, campfire, uploads or email. This round is very open - just so we all see which topics, issues, approaches, experiences, expectations are around.
As a starting point, we propose to work with these core TRACES concepts.
1. The contentiousness of heritage - problem or solution?
2. Europe – A Contested Framework.
Local – regional – national – international: false categories? (Relational approaches, multi-scalarity, Sassen). Europe and beyond, Empire, post-colonialism, migration. Museums/institutions and everyday practices. Reflexive Europeanisation through the lens of heritage.
3. Co-production - dealing with different settings and institutional logics.
4. Heritage transmission/moderation/ knowledge-building with the arts: Challenges, benefits, methods

Here are some specific questions which relate to any of the proposed or amended concepts:
  •  Which issue, topic, concept or experience preoccupies you most in the TRACES context?
  • Which of your perspectives, experiences and concepts need to be included in the overall TRACES publication?
  • Which of your experiences and findings would be of use for heritage co-producers?
  • Do you already have a specific story, topic or other contribution in mind?
We propose to hold the first round of consultation from now until April 28th, with the option to extend if necessary.

Looking forward to your responses
