Hello Marion and all,

about the CCP4 contributions.

We have, following our very productive discussion around the conference and exhbition opening, we have been discussing more.

At the moment, our understanding of CCP4 contributions are much as described in the board minutes.

1.  Description of research site (how many words?) (CCP4 team)

2. A (short) piece based on CCP4 work about photography, ethics etc. (how many words) (Tal with maybe John)

3. A (short) piece based on CCP4 work about audience research (how many words) (Anna, possibily supported by Aglaja? ... aligned to a piece on education being prepared by Karin and Nora?)

Also ...

4. Tal (is his WP role) is to write a (short) piece about the CCP concept.

Is this correct? (I asking both you, Marion, and my fellow members of CCP4).

As you can tell some more detail as to the length and nature of these contributions would be appreciated.

It is possible that we could consider further contributions, but to do so we would need to be writing to quite specific guidelines (what kind of piece is being asked for, how many words, what form, what is our capacity to include images - in colour or b&w etc.). I am afraid we cannot volunteer ideas or contributions without having a clearer idea of the form and nature of the text and, by extension, contributions.

In this respect it would be helpful to have an agreement with a publisher in place and be working within their specifications and limits. To be honest an agreement with a publisher would also be helpful to motivate contributions (the simple fact is that knowing a piece will come into publication makes the return on the investiment of time and imagination a bit more tangible).

So ... if you can imagine any further contributions from the CCP4 team based on our work, by all means ask and suggest, but it would be great if these suggestions were reasonably specific as to what is being asked for and how it fits within the overall plan for the compendium and that an arrangement to publish is in place for this plan.

Hope this all makes sense. Great taking with you ...

Cheers,

John
